Update

Hello everyone!

I apologise about my recent absence and the rather abrupt instagram explanation I offered. I have been really struggling over the last couple months with my mental health and the whole thing got a little overwhelming. But I am taking steps to combat that and reclaim my life. Starting with here. I have missed bringing you marine themed content and sustainable living ideas!

I am going to ease myself back in with a reduced posting schedule, updating once a week with my more popular segments. Fingers crossed I will pull myself together enough to come back on Friday with Marine Creature of the Month!

So, to breathe a little bit of new life and excitement into this blog, I have started an associated Tumblr! Check it out over here. I'll be sharing links to posts and reblogging interesting marine themed content. Yes, it will mostly be cute animal pictures. And probably mermaids.

It occurs to me that I should be thinking about Christmas... But I don't have the brain for it, so it can be Not Christmas for just a little bit longer. So have a Top Five! I was hoping to have the next Sharks at 7 & 3/4 s filmed and edited by now, but the boy ran off half way through filming and then told me he doesn't want to do it because it was too stressful! 6 Months Down The Line

2020 was odd and 2020 was difficult. Job hunting during a global pandemic was not the ideal situation to find myself in, but hey-ho, it was the hand I was dealt. During the process I learned a lot about myself and how to be the candidate a company wants. Biggest thing I learned was that I can be hella awkward in interviews. Especially over zoom. Especially when conducted in a tiny office during a heat wave. But that is all behind me. (Provided it all does not go horribly wrong in the forseeable future!) At the end of 2020, I landed a pretty damn epic job. I am a Content Copywriter for a copmuter retailer with a heavy focus on gaming and high-end tech. That's right, I spend eight hours a day, five days a week writing about computers! It has been a steep learning curve, having very little technical knowledge at the start, but a mere six months down the line I can confidently tell you everything about keyboards.
