Final Friday Top Five!

Top Five Eco-Instagram Accounts

(Thank you Sarah for the idea!)

5. BBC Earth @bbcearth

From BBC Earth

While a lot of their feed is advertisments for the upcoming BBC wildlife documentaries, one can harly complain about that. They share some pretty amazing widlife pictures. But they also share eco-friendly projects, like sustainable t-shirts from Teemill, and have stories and posts dedicated to sustainable living.

4. Marine Conservation Society @msc_uk

From MSC_uk

This was one of the first accounts I followed to help me reduce the plastic in my life. They share helpful infographics and supporting guides from their website, which made it a very helpful starting place. They have a nice balance of eco-campaigning, wildlife pictures, and information.

3. 4Ocean @4ocean

From 4Ocean

4Ocean are an organisation who pull plastic waste from the ocean and recycle them into very cute bracelets. I should know, I have one. They released themed bracelets, encouraging you to catch them all as it were. But in addition to this, they are raising awareness for plastic pollution, documenting their clean ups, and share people wearing their 4Ocean bracelets. Seeing their plastic pollution pictures between all the pretty ocean wildlife pictures is a sobering reminder as to why I'm trying to live the way I do.

2. Small Sustainable Steps @small_sustainable_steps

From Small_Sustainable_Steps

This is the only account on this list which is just a single person, rather than an organisation. But I love her content. Her home is gorgeous and I hope one day my house looks as grown up as hers! She shares the little things she's done and how the positive effects it has. She's doing what she can and has a brilliant post on how that doing what you can is the best you can do.

Honourable Mentions
Sea Sheperd
Project Aware
YesTribe
All three of these fill my feed with equal parts beautiul and heartbreaking content.

From 2minBeachClean

I love the content from these accounts. It ranges from cheery people cleaning a community to calling out big companies on their trash. The best bit is how it is a proper little community too; they refer to users who support the cause as "The family". It's very inclusive; they like, they comment, and they share. And their ethos is so accessible - it only takes 2 minutes, everyone can do it!

Which eco-instagrammers do you follow? Who are your favourites? Lemme know below! Brownie points if you say me! 😜
