Happy New Year!

I hope you all have a happy and healthy 2019, full of adventure and fun!

While I get my new schedule and posts in order, I am going to take this one last opportunity to look back on 2018. I think it's been a good start to the blog and I'm looking forward to aiming for bigger and better things! I thought it'd be fun to list my top five viewed posts.

 5. The Waterbike Collective (posted 20/7)

This was when I discovered the Say Yes More initiative and the YesTribe. All thanks to my partner being their hero, I got to find out about their Waterbike mission to pick up a million pieces of river litter, Yestival, and hopefully more of their future projects.

4. Finding My Fins: Porth Ysgaden (posted 24/7)

One of the biggest things I have done this year is learning how to dive. This was my first sea dive, off the beautiful Welsh coast with SSAC.  I am looking forward to going on more trips with the club and saving up for our own diving adventures abroad. I dream of sunning myself in Malta then going for a deep sea dip, followed by dinner and beer.

3. Capernwray (posted 28/8)

Diving is largely dictated by the weather. This was one such trip. A bank holiday trip to Anglesey became a day trip to Capernwray. It was still a great experience and showed I still have plenty to learn about diving! We had a great day.

The gang.

This was our last diving trip of the year, but will definitely be one I will talk about for years to come. There may not have been much diving, but there were plenty of stories (and nudibranches!) to relive. Plus, it was interesting seeing just how much the sea changes from trip to trip. July, the water was still and clear; October it was choppy and the current changed constantly. The sea is to be respected.

A little elbow grease and help from friends will fix anything.

Honourable Mentions
Just missing out on the top five slots were:

In this post I explored how I could celebrate with minimal environmental impact. This is something I want to continue to delve into, so you'll hear a lot more about this in the future. I had some real fun planning and executing my Hallowe'en and already have ideas for 2019. Here's hoping I don't forget them in the intervening ten months!

Spooky, choccie fun!

I just wanted to thank everyone who has ventured over this little corner of the internet where I ramble about the sea and plastic and whatnot. I hope you have enjoyed it enough to come back for more in 2019. I'm really hoping this blog can evolve over time and have some fun while I do it! Tune in next week for more mermaid fun!

There will be no post on Friday 4th January for personal reasons.
